Died May 9, 2010 Serving During Operation Enduring Freedom
20, of McMinnville, Tenn.; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.; died May 9 at Forward Operating Base Orgun-E, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit using small arms fire.

FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. — A soldier from Tennessee who was stationed at Fort Campbell has died in combat in Afghanistan.
The Defense Department said Spc. Jeremy L. Brown, 20, of McMinnville, Tenn., died May 9 after his unit was attacked by insurgents using small-arms fire. The military said May 10 that Brown died at Contingency Outpost Zerok, Afghanistan.
Brown was assigned to 1st Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division.
