Army 1st Lt. Joshua Deese
Died October 15, 2006 Serving During Operation Iraqi Freedom
25, of Rowland, North Carolina; assigned to 2nd Battalion, 35th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii; died Oct. 15 in Balad, Iraq, of injuries sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle in Kirkuk, Iraq. Also killed was Sgt. Jonathan E. Lootens.
