Died October 25, 2007 Serving During Operation Iraqi Freedom
39, of Philadelphia; assigned to 3rd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood Texas; died Oct. 25 in Balad, Iraq, of injuries sustained when he came in contact with enemy forces using small arms during combat operations.
Philadelphia soldier killed in Iraq

PHILADELPHIA — An Army combat engineer from Philadelphia has been killed in Iraq, the Pentagon said Friday.
Pfc. Adam J. Chitjian died Thursday of injuries he sustained in combat in the Iraqi town of Balad.
The graduate of George Washington High School in Northeast Philadelphia was on his second tour of duty in Iraq.
He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team of the 1st Cavalry Division based at Fort Hood, Texas.
