Died August 13, 2008 Serving During Operation Iraqi Freedom
23, of Naperville, Ill.; assigned to the 978th Military Police Company, Fort Bliss, Texas; died Aug. 13 in Baghdad of wounds suffered when his vehicle encountered an improvised explosive device.
Fort Bliss soldier dies in Iraq

FORT BLISS, Texas — A Fort Bliss soldier has died in Iraq after his vehicle struck a roadside bomb.
Fort Bliss said in a news release Thursday that 23-year-old Cpl. James M. Hale of Naperville, Ill., died Wednesday in Baghdad.
He was assigned to the 978th Military Police Company, 93rd Military Police Battalion, and was on his second tour of duty.
Hale was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart.
He is survived by his wife and three children.
