Prescott High graduate killed in Iraq

PHOENIX — Another Arizona man has died in combat while supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom, the Department of Defense said Saturday.
Cpl. Stephen J. Raderstorf, 21, of Peoria, Ariz., was killed Jan. 7 in Balad, Iraq. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.
The Daily Courier in Prescott, Ariz., said Raderstorf was born in Mesa. He lived in Indiana, California, Uganda and East Africa before returning to Arizona and graduating from Prescott High School in 2003.
According to the newspaper, Raderstorf graduated from basic training at Fort Benning, Ga., on Aug. 5, 2005, then was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas. He was deployed to Iraq on Oct. 1, 2006.
Raderstorf’s family will hold a funeral Wednesday at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary in Glendale, Ariz.
