Colorado soldier dies in Iraq

PARKER, Colo. — A soldier from Parker died from a non-combat injury in Iraq, the Defense Department said Tuesday.
Pfc. Shawn M. Atkins, 20, died Monday in Baghdad, the Pentagon said in a news release. No details were released.
Atkins was assigned to Headquarters Company, 4th Aviation Brigade, 1st Armored Division, based in Hanau, Germany.
A man who answered the phone at Atkins’ home declined to comment.
