Army Sgt. Lawrence J. Carter
Died December 29, 2006 Serving During Operation Iraqi Freedom
25, of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 18th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Schweinfurt, Germany; died Dec. 29 in Baghdad of wounds sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle during combat operations. Also killed was Pfc. William R. Newgard.
