Army Sgt. Mason Douglas Whetstone
Died July 17, 2003 Serving During Operation Iraqi Freedom
30, of Ogden, Utah; assigned to the 3d Battalion, 58th Aviation (Forward), Hanau, Germany; killed as a result of non-combat injuries on July 17 in Baghdad.
Mason Douglas Whetstone was born at Hill Air Force Base, Utah, and graduated in 1990 from Dimond High School in Anchorage, Alaska, where his mother lives.
He served in the Army from 1990 to 1994 and re-enlisted in August 1999.
