30, of Metairie, La.; assigned to 2nd Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.; died Aug. 29 of injuries sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near his dismounted patrol during combat operations in Yusifiyah, Iraq.
