Army Spc. Douglas J. Green
Died August 28, 2011 Serving During Operation Enduring Freedom
Green, 23, of Sterling, Va.; assigned to 3rd Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Fort Wainwright, Alaska; died Aug. 28 in Sperwan Ghar, Kandahar province, Afghanistan, of injuries suffered when insurgents attacked his unit using an improvised explosive device and small-arms fire.
