Army Spc. Jordan C. Schumann
Died July 5, 2011 Serving During Operation Enduring Freedom
24, of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; assigned to the 709th Military Police Battalion, 18th Military Police Brigade, 21st Theater Sustainment Command, Hohenfels, Germany; died July 5 in Paktia province, Afghanistan, of injuries suffered when enemy forces attacked their unit with an improvised explosive device. Also killed were Army Spc. Preston J. Suter and Army Staff Sgt. Joshua A. Throckmorton.
Funeral held for soldier killed in Afghanistan

FORT PIERCE, Fla. - A 24-year-old soldier killed in Afghanistan has been laid to rest in Florida.
Army Spc. Jordan C. Schumann was killed on July 5 after the Humvee he was riding in ran over a land mine.
Hundreds of friends and family attended a funeral service for Schumann on Friday. His family was honored with a flag that had flown over the U.S. Capitol.
Clay Schumann, his father, described his son as a one of a kind kid who had immense loyalty to his friends and family.
Friends carried U.S. flags and signs in support of the soldier's family.
