31, of Mount Sterling, Ky.; assigned to 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Schweinfurt, Germany; died Oct. 17 from injuries sustained when his patrol came in contact with enemy forces using small-arms fire during combat operations in Baghdad.
