Died September 1, 2012 Serving During Operation Enduring Freedom
28, of Mesquite, Texas, assigned to 1st Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne), Torii Station, Japan; died Sept. 1, in Batur Village, Afghanistan, of wounds caused by small-arms fire. Also killed in the incident was Staff Sgt. Jonathan P. Schmidt.
