Died July 29, 2010 Serving During Operation Enduring Freedom
28, of Manchester, N.H.; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Bragg, N.C.; died July 29 at Tsagay, Afghanistan, of injuries sustained when insurgents attacked his military vehicle with an improvised explosive device. Also killed was Capt. Jason E. Holbrook.
Flags to be lowered in honor of NH soldier

CONCORD, N.H. — New Hampshire Gov. John Lynch has directed that flags on all state buildings be lowered to half-staff to honor a soldier who was killed in Afghanistan.
Twenty-eight-year-old Kyle Warren of Manchester was killed last month when his vehicle hit an improvised explosive device while on reconnaissance patrol.
The flags will be lowered in his honor on Aug. 6.
Warren, a medical sergeant, and Capt. Jason Holbrook of Burnet, Texas, died from injuries suffered in the blast. Both were assigned to Company C, 1st Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) and Fort Bragg, N.C. They were on their second deployment in Afghanistan.
Warren left behind his wife in Hope Mills, N.C.; his mother in Bedford, N.H., and his father in Long Beach, Calif.
Fallen Ranger remembered at memorial rugby match

MANCHESTER, N.H. — Army Rangers from Fort Drum, N.Y., have honored one of their fallen comrades with a rugby match against his hometown team in Manchester, N.H.
The May 21, 2011, game was played in memory of Staff Sgt. Kyle Warren, who was killed in action in Afghanistan on July 29, 2010. Members of Manchester’s Amoskeag Rugby Club organized the memorial match, which was played at Livingston Park.
The match featuring her late husband’s former hometown team and former Rangers brought back good memories, Sandra Warren said. Adam Rowe of the 10th Mountain Division Barracks Rangers Rugby Football Club said friends and colleagues were enjoying the day “like he would want us to.”
The rugby match served a fundraiser for the Wounded Warriors Project, an organization dedicated to helping injured soldiers.
