34, of Middleton, Tenn.; assigned to 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii; died Feb. 1 while conducting combat operations in Anbar province, Iraq.
West Tennessee Marine killed in Iraq

MIDDLETON, Tenn. — A West Tennessee Marine has died in Iraq, the Department of Defense said Feb. 2.
Gunnery Sgt. Terry J. Elliott, 34, of Middleton died Thursday, the military said, during combat operations in Anbar, a western Iraqi province where Sunni insurgents are reported to remain well-entrenched and some of the bloodiest street battles of the war have occurred.
The details of Elliott’s death were not disclosed.
He was assigned to the III Marine Expeditionary Force based in, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii.
