23, of Bethalto, Ill.; assigned to 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.; died Dec. 24 of wounds sustained Dec. 5 while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan.
Services set for Ill. Marine killed in Afghanistan

BETHALTO, Ill. — Services are scheduled Thursday for a southwestern Illinois Marine killed last month during combat operations in Afghanistan.
Lance Cpl. Kenneth Corzine of Bethalto, 23, died Dec. 24 of injuries he sustained 19 days earlier when a roadside bomb detonated in Afghanistan’s Helmand province.
Corzine was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force out of Camp Pendleton, Calif.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cornerstone Assembly of God Church in Bethalto, where services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday. Burial with full military honors will be in Bethalto’s Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.
Bethalto is about 25 miles northeast of St. Louis.
