Pendleton Marine dies in southern Afghanistan

A Camp Pendleton, Calif.-based Marine died June 9 in southern Afghanistan, the Defense Department has announced.
Lance Cpl. Michael G. Plank, 25, of Cameron Mills, N.Y., died while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, according to a news release.
He was assigned to the 7th Engineer Support Battalion, 1st Marine Logistics Group.
