Navy Lt. j.g. Stephen Byus
Died September 16, 2014 Serving During Operation Enduring Freedom
39, a Defense Department civilian supply specialist working for the Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime based in Columbus, Ohio, died Sept. 16, in Kabul, Afghanistan, in a suicide car bombing. Byus, who was in the Navy Reserve but was not mobilized at the time of his death, was assigned to the Combined Security Transition Command Afghanistan. Also killed was Army Maj. Michael J. Donahue, 41, of Columbus, Ohio, assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, XVIII Airborne Corps, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
